Flip Title | Set | Flavor Text | Effects |
---|---|---|---|
Cruel and Unusual | Your captors are going to subject you to vicious tactics designed to break your will if you do not give them the information they require. | Spend 1 Clue or test -1. If you fail, lose 3 Sanity and gain a Paranoia Condition.
Then, discard this card. | |
Holding Cell | Your captors rarely speak, except to interrogate you for information. You don't think you can hold out much longer, and you hope that the guard that watches your cell might take pity on you. | Spend 1 Clue or test -1. If you fail, they beat you and leave you to die; lose 2 Health and 2 Sanity.

Then, discard this card. | |
Contaminated Water | Your captors question you for days without food or water. The only source of water you can find in your cell comes from a rusty pipe in the wall. | Spend 1 Clue or test -1. If you fail, gain a Poisoned Condition and a Hallucinations Condition and become Delayed.
Then, discard this card. | |
Starved for Weeks | You are kept in a small cell without food for weeks. Everyday, your captors interrogate you for information. | Spend 1 1 Clue or test -1. If you fail, when you are finally released, you are ravenous; lose 2 Health and gain a Hunger Condition.
Then, discard this card. |
Notes[]
Rulings, clarifications, and reminders[]
- Any other effect unrelated to moving or performing actions will still be resolved as normal. For example, investigators affected by The Bermuda Triangle can be Delayed but not moved.[1]
- The effect means "During the Encounter Phase, flip this card instead of resolving an encounter." It replaces the normal choice of an encounter with flipping the card. Any other effects that would cause the investigator to resolve an encounter will still function as normal. This means the Hound of Tindalos will be encountered as normal. Likewise, if the investigator was ambushed by a Monster, that Combat Encounter would be resolved as normal.[2]
