The grinning alchemist hands you the potion, tenebrous liquid dripping down the sides of the crystal vial. The side effects, he said, could be crippling, but the power would be unlike anything you could imagine.
Steeling yourself against the unknown, you uncork the vial and bring it to your lips. For a moment, you reconsider, fearful of what the mixture might do to you, but alas, the need is too great.
You know that better than most.
