"Never underestimate the power of the written word."

For most of her life, Gloria has experienced vivid, lifelike dreams of horrifying abominations emerging from the dark places of the universe to destroy humanity. As she became older, she learned to channel these horrible visions into her writing and is widely lauded for the imaginative and detailed descriptions of the terrors she encounters in her nightmares. Her most recent nightmare ended with the destruction of not only Arkham but the entire world. If nothing else, it is going to make one hell of a book.

Defeated Encounters

Loss of Health

You look over the doctor's reports and see that both of Gloria's hands were crushed in the accident that brought her here. She offers her old things to you now that she can no longer make use if them. Gain all of her possessions. She tells you of an old book in her library that might be of use to you, if you can translate it from its original Latin (Influence). If you pass, you discover latent power in its dusty pages; retreat Doom by 1. If you fail, its secrets remains hidden. Whether you pass or not, discard her Investigator token.

Loss of Sanity

Gloria is convinced that her stories are the reason that so many terrible things have been happening as of late and refuses to even pick up a pen. She claims that she is preparing to become a nun and have no further use for her things. Gain all of her possessions. You try to convince her that it is all in her head (Influence). If you pass, she remains unconvinced but gives you one of her old book; gain 1 Tome Artifact. If you fail, she becomes belligerent and escorts you out the door. Whether you pass or not, discard her Investigator token.
