After getting a degree in Archaeology in Boston, she began traveling the world searching for forgotten civilizations. She's an expert in both ancient and contemporary languages, and is capable of enduring the harsh environments she encounters during her expeditions. Recently, Ursula has traveled to Africa to oversee the excavation of a lost city's ruins.
Loss of Health
The doctors finally rule out Ursula's belongings as being the source of her infection. Gain all of her possessions. Something she was exposed to in her world travels has infected her blood, and now her wounds won't heal. You hope to speak to her about her explorations and implore the specialists treating her to allow a visit (). If you pass, she tells you what she's learned in her studies; retreat Doom by 1. If you fail, you are never able to speak with her again. Whether you pass or not, discard her Investigator token.
Loss of Sanity
Ursula neglects everything she owns other than her supply of laudanum. Gain all of her possessions. She tells you she's exploring another world in her dreams, but when she's in there alone, she gets lost. You attempt to guide her through her dreams (). If you pass, she's holding something from her dreams when she awakes; gain 1 Artifact. If you fail, she slips into a nightmare and never awakes. Whether you pass or not, discard her Investigator token.
With the ability to improve a skill of her choice right off the bat, Ursula can adapt based on the other characters in the game. She can quickly turn into a fighter or magic user. Her skills make it very easy for her to reach Expedition Encounter spaces or tricky Clues, and she can become a practically limitless source of Focus due to her other talents since Focus effects tend to only require spending 1 Focus anyway.
